Human touch treasured,
Every point of my body contacted his
Filling me with all encompassing warmth.
You’re mine, his body said
Hugging me like
There was nothing else
In the world to cling onto,
Like there was no one else,
Pulling me into depths
Of his chest—his heart;
Strong, guitar strumming
Arms wrapping 'round,
They said, lean on me
I am your solid support,
Your sturdiness,
Your steadfast strength,
Hold on,
Just hold on
To me.
Silhouettes complementing,
Positive curves, negative curves filled
Like mosaic pieces fitting into place,
Like gears that turn and tumble till
Pins lock into place,
So shall two bodies meet.
At every point of touch
Equilibrium established,
Heat exchanged,
Thoughts understood upon contact,
Words of love not spoken
But felt in grooves filled,
Limbs intertwined
Wanting to climb
Into the other,
To feel united
As one.
But alas, facing silhouettes
Have diminished,
A solitary figure stands
Roaming in search of one
To once again meet every
Curve with complementing warmth.
Hopeful lone figure
Journeying down paths,
Desire to meet another,
Find strength in another
Never let go, complete, whole,
As a matching puzzle piece
Sliding into its niche, in perfect union
Trading found unnecessary,
Touch eternal,
Warmth everlasting,
Natural furnace exudes
Peace, words unnecessary
As quest of touch
Is answered.
